The Rajati family and the Sanila family are two major families in Gujarat engaged in the arms business. Due to their longstanding feud, the relationship between the two families can be described as irreconcilable. Rama (played by Ranveer Singh) is born into the Rajati family; although he spends his days surrounded by guns and bullets, he is actually a very kind and peace-loving man. Leela (played by Deepika Padukone) is the youngest daughter of the Sanila family, possessing an extraordinary beauty and a bold personality that loves fiercely. One day, by chance, Rama encounters Leela, and a spark of love quickly ignites between the handsome man and the beautiful woman. However, they both know that their relationship is doomed to be disapproved by the world. In order to be together, this couple decides to elope.
