Two countries, two towns, one river. At both ends of the river lie representatives of two worlds. One is affluent and prosperous, the other is poor and hopeless. Human traffickers use this town on the Polish border, only a river away from Germany, as a transit station, and the story unfolds here. The film features numerous characters, each with distinct and vivid portrayals, alongside a complex yet orderly narrative structure, filmed with a texture reminiscent of a news documentary. Coupled with smooth editing, the plot spans only about two days, and each character's harrowing experiences are unforgettable. This film was nominated for the Golden Bear at the 2003 Berlin Film Festival and won Best Film at the 2004 Bavaria International Film Festival.
