The film is based on a true story, focusing on the friendship between the famous American television host Mr. Rogers (played by Tom Hanks) and journalist Lloyd Vogel (played by Matthew Rhys). Lloyd, a news reporter determined to expose the dark side of society, is assigned to interview Mr. Rogers for a heroic feature in the magazine's upcoming issue.
