Recognizing Lin Chong as the instructor of the Imperial Guards, Lu Zhishen engages in a friendly sparring match with him, and they become sworn brothers. Back at the Taiwei's residence, Gao Yanei remains obsessed with Zhang's beauty and asks his father Gao Qiu for help to win her. Lin Chong's friend, Lu Qian (played by Luo Hongnian), seeks to curry favor with the Gao father and son by devising a plan to frame Lin Chong, luring him into the White Tiger Hall with a knife.
