The story takes place 30 years after the blackout. Replicant K (Ryan Gosling) is a new generation Blade Runner, in a world where the division between humans and replicants is more clearly defined. Replicants are instilled with the idea of serving humans from the moment they are created, and they are absolutely forbidden from developing human emotions. One day, the remains of a female replicant are unearthed, shocking Lieutenant Joshi (Robin Wright) as this female replicant not only was pregnant but also gave birth. The existence of this child would completely disrupt the rules and order the government has worked hard to maintain. Joshi orders K to find this child and eliminate them. At an abandoned farm, K discovers some clues that are intricately connected to the implanted memories of his past. Meanwhile, Niander (Jared Leto) and his assistant Luv (Sylvia Hoeks) are also searching for this child's whereabouts.
