This film is based on true historical events. In 1971, Michael X, the leader of a black radical organization, was charged with drug trafficking but was released after threatening officials with private photos of Princess Margaret, a member of the British royal family, which he acquired a year earlier. Tim (played by Richard Lintern), an agent from MI5, is tasked with retrieving this collection of photos stored in a bank in London. Tim enlists the help of drug dealer Martine (played by Saffron Burrows) and coerces her into robbing the bank to obtain the photos for himself. Martine quickly forms a crew with several semi-professional criminals and newcomers, led by Terry (played by Jason Statham), to dig a tunnel and loot the vault. Terry and his crew successfully raid the vault, but the stolen goods leave them restless: private photos involving royal family members, ledgers of bankers bribing officials, and the sordid hobbies of high-ranking officials... The case escalates when a radio enthusiast inadvertently overhears their conversation during the crime, thrusting Terry and his crew into the center of a power struggle among various factions, forcing him to desperately navigate the situation with the evidence in hand…
