Ah Lo (played by Chow Yun-fat) was a reckless and outstanding race car driver in his youth, which didn’t stop the rich girl Bo Bo (played by Sylvia Chang) from deeply loving him. Despite her family’s objections, Bo Bo married him and became pregnant, only to discover that Ah Lo was cheating on her with other women, leading her to leave in anger. Just as Bo Bo was about to give birth, Ah Lo participated in illegal racing and crashed, killing a police officer and ending up in prison. Bo Bo was deceived by her mother and the doctor into believing that her baby had died, after which she moved to the United States. After being released from prison, Ah Lo felt remorse for his past actions and found his son from the orphanage, naming him "Bo Jai" (played by Huang Kun-xuan). The father and son began to depend on each other for life. Ten years later, Bo Bo, now engaged, returns to Hong Kong and meets Ah Lo again. Upon learning that Bo Jai is her son, she wants to take him to the United States. Still deeply in love with Bo Bo, Ah Lo decides to prove that he has changed by returning to the racing scene, despite his age and physical condition.
