Construction worker Li Sanbei (played by Bi Jianchang) has a low level of education, which often troubles him. University student Qin Shuzhen (played by Li Changle) is a night school teacher. Initially, she looks down on Sanbei as a clumsy student, thinking they are only suited for manual labor. However, when she learns about Sanbei's background, she changes her opinion. A few years later, through hard work, Sanbei has grown into a "local expert" capable of reading architectural blueprints.
