In the beautiful central square of Sen City, the volunteer teachers are ready to embark on their mission as they are inspected by their leaders. The spirited Ding Jiaojiao (played by Zheng Lanqiao) embodies the deep hopes of provincial leaders as she accepts a pen symbolizing the "spirit of dedication." Feng Zheng (played by Zong Fengyan) was originally a mid-level leader in a provincial institution, but after facing setbacks in promotions and fueled by his political ambitions, he decisively chooses to dedicate himself to grassroots education.
