Martin (Luca Marinelli) was born into a poor family and received only a few years of education. Now he lives a life of mutual dependence with his sister and has become a sailor who drifts on the vast sea all day long. One day, Martin encounters a wealthy girl named Elena (Jessica Cressy), who lends him a collection of poems by the French poet Baudelaire. Martin has never seen such words in his life and is immediately captivated. During the long time adrift at sea, he eagerly absorbs this knowledge and gradually begins to have thoughts of writing his own work. Martin loses his job, and seizes this opportunity to officially embark on a writing career. He continuously submits his work, facing countless rejections, but never considers giving up. Eventually, Martin's novel is published, earning him countless accolades and wealth.
