The Mongolian herdsman Sunite and his family of three were once living a happy and prosperous life, but recently the couple has been quarreling frequently and refusing to back down. His wife Irina is kind, beautiful, and talented in singing and dancing, but has a somewhat stubborn personality. Before marriage, Sunite was a high school graduate. Irina saw him as simple, honest, a capable herder, and very caring towards her, so she gave up on applying to the Ulaanbaatar Art Troop and quickly married him. Later, Sunite often felt a vague jealousy when he saw his wife being admired at dances, which made him increasingly irritable. He often turned to alcohol to drown his sorrows and would lose his temper. One day, he drunkenly abused Irina without cause, and the stubborn Irina could no longer endure it; in a fit of anger, she rode away on horseback. Their poor son, little Jiya, had to stay with his father. Their neighbors, a young couple who graduated high school and became herders, husband Aduqin, was a good friend of Sunite's and a classmate of Irina's. His wife Badama is kind and gentle and is very close with Irina. Their little daughter Tana is also a good friend of Jiya, and they both attend the same herders' elementary school. The two ride on the mother camel Aisa to school and back home every day. After Irina left, Aduqin and his wife became even more caring and protective of little Jiya. Jiya is a hardworking, sensible, and very ambitious child. After Sunite calmed down, he began to miss Irina but felt too embarrassed to admit he was wrong. Irina returned to her parental home, where her mother encouraged her to go back. Although she missed Jiya very much, she insisted that Sunite must come to apologize. Aduqin tried to help them meet at a herders' gathering, but he still couldn't persuade Irina to return home. The couple remained in a deadlock for a long time; little Jiya was left alone every day with his mother camel Aisa. One day, his father brought a camel trader to their home, and Jiya overheard their conversation, discovering that his father was planning to sell Aisa to the trader in exchange for ten bottles of white wine. Jiya understood that being confrontational wouldn’t work, so he first smashed the trader's wine bottle and then, along with his friend Tana, quietly rode out to intercept the camel trader on their way. Late at night, smart and brave Jiya skillfully lured Aisa out of the herd, but due to their unfamiliarity with the geography, he and Tana accidentally wandered into a dry area without water. Mother camel Aisa dug up a spring and saved them from the threat of death. At this moment, Sunite and Irina could no longer hold onto their grievances; they, along with Tana's parents, went out to search for the children. When they saw the lovely Aisa rescuing Jiya and Tana like a mother, they couldn’t help but feel deep remorse and be profoundly moved.
