"The Three Kings" tells the story of the three kings visiting to pay homage at the birth of Jesus. However, the film does not glorify this story; instead, it employs a very flat technique to depict it, presenting the three kings merely as ordinary people. Most of the time is spent illustrating their arduous journey to find the birthplace of Jesus and the challenges they encounter, the biggest of which is getting lost in the mountains and finding their way. In recent years, among many new directors, Spanish Catalan director Albert Serra is considered quite controversial.
