The War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea has entered its most crucial decisive phase. During the negotiations at Panmunjom, U.S. forces secretly assembled a large number of troops and launched a surprise attack. The U.S. military had a clear objective: to capture Shangganling, using it as a stronghold to subsequently seize Wusheng Mountain, thereby increasing their bargaining power in negotiations. The defenders of Shangganling were the 8th Company of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army. Faced with an enemy force much larger than their own, the volunteers did not retreat but chose to resist stubbornly, dragging out time to thwart the enemy's conspiracy. Under the leadership of Company Commander Zhang Zhongfa (played by Gao Baocheng), the company fought valiantly against the U.S. forces. Despite the harsh conditions in the tunnels and the danger of water and food shortages, the volunteers held their ground for 24 days, laying a solid foundation for the great counteroffensive of the Chinese-Korean coalition.
