The strong and powerful Xia Hou Wu (played by Donnie Yen) was once a disciple of the He Yi school in Foshan. Back in the day, his competitive nature led him to engage in a martial arts match while serving as an instructor in Hong Kong, which resulted in accidentally killing his opponent and ultimately landing him in prison. One day, three years later, a mysterious traffic accident occurs on a bustling street, where it seems the victim was brutally killed by someone with exceptional martial arts skills before the accident. Xia Hou Wu sees the news in prison and realizes that a systematic hunt against martial artists is unfolding behind the scenes. He urgently requests to meet Chief Inspector Lu Xuanxin (played by Karena Lam) from the major case squad, and after mentioning the next murder victim, he gains her trust and is allowed to assist the police in their investigation.
