The film tells the story of the conflict between Russia and Georgia in August 2008. The 2008 South Ossetia War was a war that took place within Georgia in August 2008, with one side being the Georgian government and the other side being South Ossetia, which had declared independence unilaterally, along with its supporters Abkhazia and Russia. Starting from August 1, there were several skirmishes between Georgia and South Ossetia. In the early hours of August 8, Georgia launched a full military operation and quickly controlled more than two-thirds of South Ossetia, surrounding its capital Tskhinvali. Russian troops entered the South Ossetia region on the 8th and initiated military action on the 9th, soon taking control of Tskhinvali and subsequently occupying Georgian territory and military bases outside South Ossetia in the following days. Under the mediation of international parties, Georgia and Russia signed a ceasefire agreement on the 15th and 16th respectively, and Russian troops began to withdraw from Georgia on the 18th, marking the end of the war. This war resulted in a total of 215 Georgian military personnel dead, 1,469 injured; 74 Russian soldiers dead, 171 injured, 19 missing, and approximately 1,600 South Ossetian civilians dead.
