The film is adapted from "British thriller king" Lee Child's novel "The Perfect Suspect." Six bullets, five dead, a mysterious shooter creates a massacre in the downtown area, plunging the entire city into panic. All evidence points to former military sniper James Barr (Joseph Sikora), but he insists on his innocence and requests to bring his old acquaintance Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise). The two served together in the military. As Jack investigates further, he uncovers a larger mystery; the real culprit behind the massacre seems to be someone else, and a sinister mastermind has taken Barr, leaving Jack alone to uncover the truth. One of the six bullets is a blank that the killer intentionally left empty. To understand the sniper's work, Jack specially went to the sniper training camp, where he found a coach named Samuel Cash (Robert Duvall). With the help of Cash, Barr's sister, and a lawyer, Jack gradually finds himself at the center of the event, revealing secrets about Soviet re-education camps and the Russian mafia...
