Hancock (played by Will Smith) is a bulletproof superhero feared by criminals. However, every time this superhero confronts criminals, it results in tremendous chaos and severe destruction, posing a significant threat to the lives of citizens and public property. This is why, despite his unique abilities, he fails to gain public recognition. His irritable and non-defensive personality further exacerbates the conflict. One day, PR manager Ray Embrey (played by Jason Bateman) has a particularly bad day; not only is he unable to sell his global compassion initiative, but he also finds himself stuck in traffic on a train track, nearly getting run over by a train. Hancock appears just in time to save his life, but in doing so, he uncontrollably destroys the train and the surrounding traffic, inciting public outrage. However, Ray has a bright idea and decides to package Hancock as a beloved hero. To his surprise, the biggest opposition comes from his wife Mary (played by Charlize Theron), who insists that Hancock leave her family. As events unfold, it reveals an astonishing intertwined past.
