At the beginning of the 20th century, the international situation was changing rapidly, and ancient China was in a critical moment of survival. In Foshan, Guangdong, young Ip Man and his non-blood brother Tin Chi studied under the Wing Chun master Chan Wah-shun (played by Sammo Hung). Ip Man was exceptionally talented and stood out among his peers within ten years. Upon becoming an adult, Ip Man (played by Du Yu-hang) bid farewell to his childhood friends Tin Chi (played by Fan Shao-huang) and junior sister Mei-hui (played by Chan Ka-hung) and went to Hong Kong to continue his studies. During this period, he taught a lesson to the foreign devils who discriminated against Chinese people, gaining fame in Hong Kong, and consequently, he became a disciple of the Wing Chun lineage through Leung Jan's son—Leung Bik (played by Ye Zhun). Soon, the chairman of the Jingwu Association was murdered. Scheming Japanese were stirring, and his former friend Tin Chi seemed to have completely changed...
