Due to poor harvests in his hometown, young Zheng Chao'an (played by Bruce Lee) follows his uncle to Thailand. With the help of local Chinese worker Xu Jian (played by Tian Jun), Zheng gets a job at an ice factory. Xu Jian is loyal and often stands up for justice, frequently getting involved in fights. Although Zheng has learned martial arts, he refrains from using them due to his mother's advice. The ice factory where the workers are employed hides drugs within the ice for profit. Soon, two Chinese workers accidentally find the drugs and are killed by the factory manager and owner. Xu Jian demands justice from the owner but is brutally murdered by hired thugs at his home. The workers search for the missing Chinese workers and Xu Jian but find nothing, leading them to strike in protest. The factory manager and foremen retaliate by beating the workers, prompting Zheng Chao'an to step in to defend them. Fearful of Zheng's strength, the manager promotes him to a leadership position, and the workers start calling Zheng "The Big Boss." When the owner realizes he cannot gain Zheng's loyalty, he kills all the Chinese workers. Zheng storms into the owner's home, seeking revenge for the blood debt...
