In a futuristic world, the United States has developed a space station called "Space One," which is actually a heavily fortified maximum-security prison housing about 500 extremely dangerous inmates, all of whom are frozen and in a state of suspended animation. One day, Emily Warnock (Maggie Grace), the daughter of the current President of the United States, visits Space One to investigate human rights issues. However, during an interview with the inmates, an unexpected incident occurs. After a chaotic sequence of events, all the criminals awaken from their slumber, and Space One is instantly overtaken, with Emily and the staff taken hostage. Meanwhile, agent Snow (Guy Pearce) is framed and is set to be sent to Space One. However, in order to rescue the President's daughter, he temporarily gains his freedom and enters Space One to find the target hostage and his partner, Maze, who holds important evidence related to his framing.
