In China, Dr. Indiana Jones (played by Harrison Ford) makes a deal with a Shanghai gang leader, who betrays him after obtaining the ashes of Nurhaci and attempts to eliminate Jones. At a critical moment, the clever little boy Short Round (played by Jonathan Ke Quan) saves Dr. Jones and a singer named Willie (played by Kate Capshaw), who was unknowingly caught up in the situation.
