In Japan during the Edo period, a wandering blind musician named Ichi (played by Haruka Ayase) is taken in by a man with ill intentions during a heavy snowfall. However, Ichi swiftly wounds him with her sword. It turns out that Ichi possesses extraordinary swordsmanship and is on a journey to find a male blind swordsman. Along the way, Ichi meets the seemingly timid and down-and-out swordsman, Jumai (played by Takafumi Ozawa), and they journey together to a village town. There, they encounter a gang of thugs known as the "Wankiga," who are causing trouble. Ichi easily takes down a few of the villains, but Jumai is mistakenly viewed as a hero by the locals and is appointed as their protector. The Wankiga soon retaliate, leading the town into a bloody conflict. Ichi and Jumai must not only save everyone's lives but also discover news about the swordsman they have been searching for within the Wankiga.
