Luke Wright (Jason Statham) is a rule-breaking, rigid former NYPD officer. One day, he witnesses a group of armed gang members ambushing a 12-year-old Chinese girl named Mei (Catherine Chan) at a subway station. Feeling a surge of justice, he intervenes to teach the gang a lesson and protects the girl. Soon after, members of the Hong Kong triad, Russian thugs, assassins sent by corrupt politicians, and corrupt cops relentlessly come after them. With no choice, Luke and Mei embark on a desperate life on the run in New York. It turns out that Mei possesses an extraordinary photographic memory; she has recorded a series of numbers that, when decoded, reveal a password. Understanding the situation, Luke decides to help Mei through her troubles. However, what kind of battle awaits them?
