The gangster leader Wen Ge (played by Gao Xiong) is being hunted down. His brother A-Nan (played by Ren Dahua) arranges for five people to be his brother's bodyguards and orders them to find out the mastermind behind the assassination attempt on Wen Ge. The five are A-Gui (played by Huang Qiusheng), A-Lai (played by Wu Zhenyu), A-Mike (played by Zhang Yaoyang), A-Xin (played by Lyu Songxian), and A-Fei (played by Lin Xue). A-Lai and A-Xin are known masters, while A-Gui, A-Mike, and A-Fei are former heroes who have retired: A-Gui was previously a subordinate of Wen Ge, A-Mike is a sharpshooter, and A-Fei is a firearms expert. The five work together to capture the assassin and uncover the mastermind behind the plot. The five strangers from the underworld become close friends. At this moment, A-Nan informs A-Gui that A-Xin is having an affair with Wen Ge's wife and asks A-Gui to kill A-Xin, but A-Lai firmly opposes this.
