The famous USS Missouri battleship in American history is about to be decommissioned, and a grand celebration is attended by the president. It is also the birthday of the old captain, and the ship's cook—Ensign Raeburn (played by Steven Seagal) is busy preparing the feast. The annoying executive officer Quail clashes with Raeburn and locks him in the freezer. A military entertainment troupe arrives on board, and just as the performance reaches its climax, the entertainers suddenly act in concert with Quail, attacking the crew and taking control of the Missouri. Among the "entertainers" is Strane (played by Tommy Lee Jones), a former CIA agent familiar with ships; he collaborates with Quail to obtain launch codes for several Tomahawk missiles armed with nuclear warheads. The military is utterly shocked by this terrorist attack and finds itself unable to respond. At this moment, Raeburn, who escapes from the freezer, becomes their only hope...
