Retired special forces operative Frank Martin (Jason Statham) now makes a living transporting goods in his BMW. Frank doesn't care whether he's serving bank robbers; he focuses on contracts and principles. After completing a job, he inevitably faces police questioning and new assignments. An American crime syndicate entrusts Frank with transporting an item, which he inadvertently discovers to be a young Asian woman named Lai (Shu Qi). After completing the task, the client attempts to silence him, forcing Frank to take Lai back to his place. The trouble Frank has stirred up is significant, as his employer subsequently levels his residence. Lai's mysterious identity comes to light: she is the only daughter of an international human trafficker. Frank becomes entangled in a father-daughter feud related to smuggling crimes, and he must decide how to confront his relationship with Lai and issues of justice.
