Engja (played by Arndís Hrönn Egilsdóttir) and Reynir are a married couple who have been living in a remote and quiet town, making a living by running a farm. Despite working very hard every day, their income is still insufficient to support their lives, mainly because the Epsfirth Cooperative has monopolized the sales channels for agricultural products. One day, Reynir tragically dies in a terrible car accident. After slowly overcoming the pain of losing her husband, Engja unexpectedly receives some shocking news that angers her greatly—Reynir’s death was not an accident, but related to the cooperative. Engja documents all the misdeeds of the cooperative over the years and publishes them online, quickly sparking a media frenzy. Other farmers in the area who have been oppressed by the cooperative also step forward, hoping to seek justice.
