Anton is a high school history teacher in his fifties who gradually realizes that he is becoming increasingly deaf to the sounds around him, even the reactions of his lover and the words of his colleagues. To cover up his hearing impairment, he chooses to retreat into his own world, ignoring everything external, finishing his lectures to himself, and returning home to blast music at full volume. However, this behavior exacerbates his students' dissatisfaction and frequently leads to misunderstandings with colleagues due to his questionable hearing. Encouraged by a friend, Anton wears a hearing aid, but while the problem of not hearing is solved, the suddenly overly clear sounds become his new distress. The bustling streets, the dripping rain, and even the sound of a colleague next to him crunching chips can cause him to break down in seconds. Facing crises in romance, work, and interpersonal relationships, Anton unexpectedly meets a little girl living in the same building. Violette, traumatized, has stopped speaking. Thus, a man who cannot hear the sounds of the world and a girl who cannot express herself verbally become the closest confidants, understanding each other's feelings the most, while Violette's mother is quietly attracted to this man who always seems to babble incomprehensibly to her...
