A poor man, Renjie (Liu Jiahui), disguises himself as the monk San De to punish the bully, Gao Feng (Wang Longwei), who usually exploits the people for fish and meat. However, he gets recognized and ends up receiving a severe beating. Afterward, Renjie goes to Shaolin Temple to ask San De for martial arts training, but he is ignored. Feeling Renjie’s sincerity, San De eventually allows him to stay in the temple, but he does not teach him martial arts; instead, he assigns Renjie to work on scaffolding and repairs.
