The sudden death of Peking opera warrior Guan Yulou (Dylan Kuo) triggers a heartfelt reminiscence from his younger brother Guan Xiaolou (David Jiang) about their shared past. Amidst the sorrow, Xiaolou uncovers clues suggesting that there may be more to his brother's death than meets the eye and begins an investigation. He discovers the truth involves the martial arts hall leader Feng Kaishan (Gu Feng), who had an affair with his sister-in-law Hua Zhengfen (Qu Yanqing), and conspired with Jin Zhiquan (Yang Zhiqing) and others to orchestrate Yulou's death. Determined to avenge his brother, Xiaolou embarks on a quest for revenge. Due to the many individuals involved in Yulou's murder, Xiaolou falls into a trap and faces numerous dangers. Fortunately, Hua Zhengfen's younger sister Hua Zhengfang (Wang Ping) uses her charm to seduce the enemy, ultimately leading to Feng Kaishan's demise. Fearing that Xiaolou will come after him, Jin Zhiquan falsely claims that the mastermind behind Yulou's murder is the warlord Hu Zhihu. Xiaolou, aware of Jin Zhiquan's cunning nature, pretends to agree to conspire with him to eliminate Hu Zhihu, launching a bet regarding the lives of both men.
