Chinese Kung Fu is profound and extensive. Before this film, Tai Chi had never been brought to the screen. Screenwriter Ni Kuang challenged the common belief that Tai Chi is merely a form of exercise, officially showcasing its offensive power. Young worker Gu Ding, a Tai Chi master, is bullied by the tyrant Jin Dasheng and has been silently enduring it. Jin also takes away his beloved partner A Bao, and Gu bears shame and hardship. Eventually, his master and good friend Hu Binglian tragically die at his hands, and he can no longer endure, being forced to retaliate. When the movie was released, it caused a stir because the male lead, Chen Wo Fu, was a Tai Chi expert. After completing this film, he suddenly died, making Tai Chi his final work, which is regrettable.
