Adapted from the story of Bao Gong (Jing Miao) conducting a night trial of Guo Huai (Chen Youxin). While on an inspection tour, a strange wind blew away his official hat, and upon entering a village, he discovered a blind woman was actually Consort Li (Ouyang Shafei), who had been expelled from the palace by the late emperor. She was demoted to the cold palace after being exchanged for the crown prince by Consort Liu (Gao Baoshu) and Guo Huai, and later faked her death to escape through a fire. Bao Gong knew that Guo Huai and Consort Liu held considerable power in the palace, so he devised a clever plan to lure Guo Huai to Kaifeng, secretly transforming the prison into the underworld, and using a maid (Li Jing) to impersonate the ghost of Kou Zhu (Ling Bo) to entice Guo Huai into confessing his crimes.
