An unexpected event in the Bungo-Seki Domain caused Pan Yin to lose two childhood friends. Heartbroken, Pan Yin decided to leave his hometown, bidding farewell to his fiancée Nao, and became a wandering samurai. He began his new life in a nagaya in Edo, where, introduced by the landlord Kanbei, Pan Yin worked as an assistant in an eel shop during the day and as a bodyguard at the pawn shop owner's house in the evening. His gentle nature and outstanding swordsmanship gradually earned the trust of those around him and captured the heart of Kanbei’s daughter. Just then, Pan Yin was drawn into a conspiracy regarding the new currency circulating in the shogunate. To protect the important people he encountered in Edo, Pan Yin must set aside his grief and confront the evil forces.
