The film is based on true events. The Republic of Numia is engulfed in war. Former stationed diplomat Zong Dawei (played by Zhang Yi) and new Foreign Ministry recruit Sen Lang (played by Wang Junkai) are ordered to assist in the evacuation of nationals. After successfully completing their mission, they learn that another group of stranded compatriots, led by Bai Hua (played by Yin Tao), is heading to the border evacuation point. In a desperate situation, the two abandon their opportunity to return home and head back into the war zone. Unarmed diplomats traverse through gunfire and deserts, facing the guns of the rebels, to lead their compatriots back home...
