The film tells a true story about the first day of the Lebanon War in June 1982, where four young Israeli soldiers are tasked with driving a tank and cooperating with a team of ground soldiers. The unit's first mission is to enter a Lebanese civilian village to eliminate those who appeared to be terrorists from the Palestine Liberation Organization. Commander Jamili describes the task as "quick and simple," but as the soldiers enter the village, what seems to be a straightforward mission quickly becomes complicated, ultimately turning into a nightmarish massacre. From the moment the unit is deployed, they lose contact with other forces, and the four soldiers find themselves trapped in a death ambush. The film "Lebanon" portrays the chaotic and complex nature of the Middle Eastern war, inevitably touching on political issues. However, most importantly, the director aims to depict the awakening of four young men in their early twenties, who suddenly find themselves in the brutal reality of killing civilians, where killing becomes something they must do. They are not heroes, nor does anyone want to be one. Their survival instincts and human values clash intensely, resulting in a chilling human tragedy.
