Chinese-American Huang Kun and African-American "Old Black" are both police officers in San Francisco. Huang Kun is skilled in martial arts and has a strong personality, earning him the nickname Yellow-faced Tiger. One day, Old Black offends local gangsters and gets ambushed. Huang Kun, eager to save his friend, kills one of the gangsters, which leads to his superior Newman firing him and serving a year in prison. After his release, Huang Kun maintains contact with Old Black. One night, Old Black is shot dead while pursuing bank robbers in the backyard of a local Chinese-American named Zhu. The next morning, Newman arrests the Zhu couple and coerces them to sign a confession. Angered by the harm done to his friend, Huang Kun investigates and discovers that Newman is in cahoots with the gang, and he ultimately kills Newman...
