Evan (Ashton Kutcher) had a terrible childhood, filled with painful memories due to disastrous actions he took. In truth, he only vaguely remembers some horrific scenes that have haunted his normal life. Following a psychologist's advice, Evan starts jotting down details of his daily life in a notebook and accidentally discovers he can return to the past through it. At that moment, he clearly recalls all the mistakes he made as a child. He fantasizes about inhabiting his childhood body with his current consciousness to amend the harm caused by his past misdeeds, especially his desire to reunite with his long-lost crush, Kayleigh. However, each attempt to alter the past only leads to worsening consequences in the present. Everything unfolds like the butterfly effect, where one small change can affect the entire system.
