Geoffrey Rush and Jai Courtney ([Suicide Squad]) join the new version of [The Story of the Pelican], which is adapted from Colin Thiele's novel of the same name; in 1976, director Henri Safran brought the novel to the big screen. The film revolves around a story of friendship and love set along the Australian coast. Directed by Shaun Seet (Australian drama "Deep Water"), the film will combine live-action and 3-D computer-generated animation. Filming begins in July.
