Kevin (played by Keanu Reeves) is a young lawyer with an unbeaten record, living a seemingly blissful life with his beautiful wife and a successful career. Invited by a prestigious firm in New York, he travels there with his wife. A luxurious lifestyle is within reach, and everything appears to foreshadow a bright and smooth future. The boss, Milton (played by Al Pacino), holds Kevin in high regard, continuously entrusting him with significant responsibilities while introducing him to a vibrant world. Faced with the pressures of work and the temptations of sex, fame, and fortune, Kevin gradually becomes lost in his life, even neglecting the abnormal signs in his wife's behavior. It is only when his deranged wife takes her own life in his arms that Kevin realizes the crisis surrounding him. Kevin angrily accuses Milton of setting a trap for him. However, is it the devil's temptation or his own vanity that has led Kevin into the fog and abyss of today? What choices will Kevin make under the guise of free will?
