In the late 1950s, the once-popular theatrical scene was changing rapidly, as people became obsessed with television and rock music, neglecting the various forms of entertainment that had accompanied them in their youth. He is an experienced magician, poised and composed on stage, yet forced in reality to move between various performance venues for a meager living, from luxurious concert halls to dilapidated, remote pubs, with his passion for magic never wavering. During a stay in the Scottish countryside, the magician meets a young girl who is enchanted by his magical tricks, leading her to secretly leave her hometown and follow his journey. They travel to Edinburgh, where life becomes increasingly difficult, and to fulfill the girl’s faith in magic and her longing for a glamorous world, the magician is compelled to devise various ways to make money... This film won the Best Animated Feature award at the 2010 European Film Festival and the Best Animated Feature award at the 2010 New York Film Critics Circle.
