Daniel (Matthew Macfadyen) is a struggling writer who has always lived in the shadow of his successful writer brother Robert (Rupert Graves). He quietly takes on the responsibility of caring for his parents and is now in charge of his father's funeral, yet he is overshadowed by his brother. A once serious and sacred funeral turns chaotic when his cousin's fiancé, the unfortunate Simon (Alan Tudyk), accidentally consumes hallucinogenic drugs. However, an even bigger crisis arises when a mysterious dwarf (Peter Dinklage) appears, blackmailing Daniel with evidence that could ruin his father's reputation. It turns out that Daniel's father was gay, and this secret is on the verge of being revealed after his death. In the midst of the chaos, the funeral continues sporadically. The dramatic blend of sadness and humor subtly reveals the meaning of a funeral—remembering the deceased with love while allowing the living to bury their unsatisfactory past at the funeral.
