The torrential rain replaced the silence of the crowd, the shock and anger in the air, like eagles, circling in the mansion's hall, waiting for the late-returning master, Paul. He, with a high-paying job, a beautiful wife, and lovely children, committed a forbidden love and was blocked from the gates of a perfect life. His family and the church decided to heal and save him in the name of God. Inside the church, booming prayers continuously poured into Paul's ears, the murmured words stirred tremors, shattering his spirit, and fear glued together a faith full of cracks. Out of an affair to coming out, falling in love with someone who shouldn't be loved in the eyes of the secular world. Paul and his new lover moved into a new apartment, starting a new life of freedom, but his heart never found peace. His love was viewed as sin and disease, resisted and condemned from all sides; he was tormented by his beloved, painfully wandering between harm and happiness. "I want to understand how an educated person ultimately falls into the prison of his own heart. How religious environments, political oppression, and traditional families oppress a man's same-sex love." ── Gairo Bustamante
