The story takes place in 1943, when the repeated invasions by the Japanese army shattered the peaceful life of the Korean people. In a moment, the smoke of war rose everywhere, and the citizens lost their homes, living a miserable life of displacement. In a small village in Gyeochang County, there lived a 14-year-old girl named Jeong-min (played by Kang Ha-na), who was born into an ordinary but loving family and was raised under the tender care of her parents. The arrival of war ended Jeong-min's carefree life. One day, the Japanese army occupied the village and forcibly took Jeong-min away to a train bound for Japan. Accompanying her were other girls of similar age, each feeling anxious and unsure of what fate awaited them. Jeong-min and the other girls became victims of the Japanese army's unleashed desires, living a tragic life devoid of hope. However, in Jeong-min's heart lies an unwavering hope: that is to survive and return to her hometown.
