This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by the famous martial arts novelist Huang Ying, directed by Hua Shan in 1983. The story narrates how the meticulously carved crystal statue of a beautiful woman, created by Long Fei (played by Bai Biao), suddenly goes missing, leading to the mysterious murders of several underworld experts. Rumors in the martial arts world suggest that the Crystal Man has turned into a spirit to commit these murders. After a series of investigations, Long Fei eventually discovers that the Crystal Man (played by Liu Yup) is actually a killer trained by Ri Hou (played by Chen Sijia).
