Eight swimmers in a monochromatic school pool create waves in the same monochromatic tone. A pair of half-brothers, the older brother Zack is the school leader, well-connected and adored by girls. He often commands his younger brother Darren to do his chemistry homework; the younger brother is a typical computer geek, constantly immersed in online games and hacking codes. He isn't the messy-haired boy with large black glasses and disheveled clothes, often derogatorily referred to as a "shut-in"; instead, he is a mediocre swimmer in the school's swim team led by his older brother. This boy, who enjoys sunlight and pool water while being proficient with computers, is a well-rounded individual. He lacks the cunning of his brother, and as the saying goes, "good men are not loved by women." The younger brother's clumsiness and simplicity are not the type that female classmates are attracted to, but he has found someone he likes. Xandrie's silky golden hair and innocent smile captivate Darren. He cannot find the blonde beauty at the party thrown by his brother, so he sends a text message containing phrases understood only by the young online community. Searching for her in the surveillance of his room yields nothing. He encounters couples in a drug and alcohol-fueled haze misbehaving in the computer geek's room, and Darren worries that Xandrie may have been drugged and taken to a hidden place to be assaulted. He fears Xandrie might fall victim to the same tactics, so he drives them away, subconsciously fighting against the use of alcohol and illicit substances to gain courage, numbing his rationality, leading to an out-of-control act from a school alumnus. The monochromatic pool competition participants are not just eight; the remaining four are key figures in school bullying.
