The story takes place during Prohibition, when the illegal liquor trade became the best way for gangsters to make money. Dally (David Patrick Kelly) and Stroz (Ned Eisenberg) are the heads of the Irish and Italian mobs, respectively, and the two gangs are on the brink of conflict over territory. One day, a mysterious drifter known as Smith (Bruce Willis) arrives in town. Experienced and perceptive, he soon recognizes the tense atmosphere hovering above the town, and the risk-loving Smith decides to cash in. Smith navigates between Dally and Stroz, quickly amassing a fortune. However, it doesn't take long for him to realize that he has fallen into a crisis, becoming a target that both major factions want to eliminate.
