Renowned television presenter Georges (Daniel Auteuil) and his wife Anne (Juliette Binoche), along with their son Pierre, have their peaceful life disrupted by a videotape that Georges finds at their doorstep. The tape shows someone silently observing the actions of the Georges family. Soon, more tapes and ominous postcards are sent to Georges and his family. Georges becomes increasingly anxious about the unseen enemy, starts to protect his son carefully, and reflects on the content of the tape, recalling a long-ago Algerian orphan named Majid, who almost became his mother's adopted child. Suspecting that Majid is behind the tapes, Georges visits him, leading to an unexpected outcome… This film won the Best Director award at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival and over twenty other professional accolades.
