During the Republic of China period. Four drunkards from the capital, Zhao Daman (Jiang Wu), Qian Erbao (Liu Yunlong), Sun Sanqiang (Zhang Yue), and Li Biao (He Bing), witness the murder of progressive intellectuals and their daughter in the streets. Outraged, they kill the murderer, which leads to a disaster—the victim is the only son of the notorious traitor Jiang Shiqi. While escaping from Jiang's henchmen, the four unexpectedly receive cash and a map of Jiang's residence from the steward (Ren Ming). Although they do not understand his intentions, they decide to kill Jiang Shiqi immediately. At the moment of action, Zhao Biao learns that his wife and child have been kidnapped by Jiang Shiqi and goes to Jiang's residence alone, falling into a trap.
