The film is adapted from the novel "Night of the Plants," written by Eduardo Sacheri, the author of "The Secret in Their Eyes." It tells the story of a group of small-town neighbors, led by former football player Fermín (played by Ricardo Darín), who seek to reclaim their stolen money from a shady lawyer and corrupt bank executives.
