Business elite Will (played by Hayden Christensen) learns that his son Danny (played by Ty Shelton) is a victim of campus bullying, so he takes his wife and child to his hometown for a vacation. While hunting deer with Danny, Will witnesses a shooting incident. In self-defense, Will shoots the armed assailant, only to find a police badge on him. Will brings another injured man back home to treat him. When the man wakes up, he takes Danny hostage and demands Will retrieve the keys he discarded at the shooting scene. The three of them head back to the site, where they see police presence. The man takes Danny and drives away, arranging a meeting point with Will. From Sheriff Marvin, Will learns that the man who has taken Danny hostage is Levi, a bank robber being pursued by the police. For the safety of his son, Will has no choice but to evade the police and follow Levi's instructions. However, wherever he goes, Sheriff Marvin and Officer Richie are always in close pursuit, even interfering in the process. When Will follows the directions and retrieves cash from a safe to take to Levi's hideout, he realizes that Marvin is the mastermind behind the bank robbery and also the killer of Will's father. After a fierce battle, Marvin, Richie, and Levi all die. In the end, the police return the stolen cash to the bank, and Will's family happily sets off for home.
